Juan Manuel Medellin of Carpentersville passed away at his residence in Carpentersville on March 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. Juan was born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Mexico and moved to the United States in 1972 where he built a life with his beloved wife of 46 years, Concepcion Medellin, and their three children, Jesus, David and Concepcion.


Juan spent 28 years as a part of Labor Union 582. He was a loving husband, steadfast supporter of his children, loyal friend, cherished Tio, excellent dancer, and treasured grandfather - or “Welito” - to his grandchildren.


Juan is survived by his wife, Concepcion Medellin of Carpentersville, as well as two sons, one daughter, and one daughter-in-law: Jesus Medellin of Carpentersville, David Medellin (Amy) of Oak Park, and Concepcion Medellin of Algonquin, seven grandchildren: Jesus, Chloe, Zoe, Natalia, Camila, Izzy and Maya, and two sisters: Guadalupe Medellin de Aguilar and Leticia Medellin de Guzman. He also leaves many other beloved family members who will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Roberto Medellin and Jose Medellin, and parents: Maria San Juan Martinez-Medellin and Juan Medellin.

 Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 from 3pm to 9pm at the Dundee Funeral Home 485 Dundee Ave., East Dundee (Across from the Dundee Township Cemetery East on Rt. 25 & 72) Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 11 AM at St. Monica Catholic Church in Carpentersville. Cremation will be private
