Elizabeth Roddy Singleton of South Elgin, Il (previously of Little Rock Arkansas and Chicago Il) passed away on January 19, 2021 in Barrington IL. Elizabeth Roddy was born on March 20, 1936 to Lawrence Roddy and Delilah Dennis in Woodruff, AR., She was raised with strong spiritual roots and accepted Christ at an early age as she developed strong faith and love for GOD which she instilled in her 10 Children at early ages by exposing them to church and cultivating the love she had for GOD to her children. Elizabeth met and married James Singleton Jr., May 11 1963 and was a loving wife for over 40 years until James proceeded her in death September 2001. Elizabeth was a doting mother who with a grammar school education doted on her kids and was determined to provide opportunities that she wasn’t privileged to have onto her children to ensure they would have greater opportunities at success than she was given. Elizabeth leaves to mourn her four siblings, Betty Dickerson (Indiana) who proceeded her in death, Robert Sims (Elgin), Laurette Roddy (Little Rock) and Gladys Sims (Michigan) Her Loving Children Calvin Lindsey (Elgin) who proceeded her in death, Wilma J. Johnson (Chicago Heights), Perry J. Woods (Chicago), Marcella Roddy (Waukegan), Marcia Roddy (Des Plains) Pamela Roddy Singleton- Edmondson (Indiana), Linda M. Singleton (Chicago), Sandra L. Singleton (Michigan), Kimberly P. Singleton (South Elgin) and James Singleton III (Michigan). Elizabeth also leaves to mourn 2 daughter-in-laws, Sallie Lindsey (Elgin) and Treia Singleton (Michigan) and one son-in-law, Theodore D. Edmondson (Indiana), Great Grand Sons and Daughters-in-laws, 47 Grandchildren, A host of Great Grandchildren, Aunts, Uncles, Cousin, Nieces, Nephews, and loving friends. Services entrusted to Dundee Funeral Home 525 Dundee Ave. East Dundee Il 60118. Memorial Family gathering will be held Tuesday January 26, 2021 from 1-3pm.
