Antonia Garcia of Elgin passed away in Elgin on March 12, 2021. Visitation will be held Friday March 19, 2021 Dundee Funeral Home & Cremation Care 525 Dundee Ave., East Dundee Illinois ( Across from the Dundee Township Cemetery East on Rt. 25 & Higgins Rd.) from 4pm till 9pm. chapel service at 7pm. Friday, Cremation Private. Antonia Garcia was born in Weslaco, Texas July 30, 1937 she is the eldest of 12 siblings. Antonia took the role of caregiver from a very young age, taking care of her brothers and sisters. She went to school in Texas, and worked part time to help her mother. She graduated from high school got married, and moved to Illinois. In Illinois is where she raised her children. It was Antonia who paved the way for her mother and siblings to move to Illinois. Antonia never stopped caring and helping out. Antonia the big sister. She worked, ( with her husband ) and still had time to help others. She enjoyed being of service to others. Her favorite past times were going to the dances, and while she was there, she would set up a small cafeteria area and sell tacos, menudo, her story is long, she had many talents gardening, raising chickens, knitting, music. She had a lucky streak at playing video games, and slot machines. She loved going to the casino. She was the happiest when she was doing what she liked. She loved her family and enjoyed being surrounded by her grandchildren. Family gatherings of birthday parties, quinceaneras, weddings, and holidays. She was the Loving wife of the late Alejandro Garcia. Loving mother the late Julian Rodriguez, the late Nicolas Rodriguez Jr., Marcela ( Hunoz Rodriguez ), Galindo Rodriguez, Sergio Rodriguez, Beatrice Rodriguez,Patricia Garcia, Sonja Garcia, Michael A. Garcia, and many loving grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
